Visit Belgium: More Than Meets The Eye

Belgium was the second stop on my euro trip. Belgium is perhaps the world’s most misunderstood nation, with three official languages, and an intense regional rivalry between the Flemish-speaking north and the French-speaking south. Regardless, the Belgium’s do two things better than anyone else in the world: Beer and Chocolate.

Come with me while I take you to some of the greatest cities in this country, Brussels, Bruges and Ghent. Here we take a deeper look into the cultural and emotional aspect of the country.

My Favorite Hotel In Belgium:

Hotel Made In Louise:
Made In Louise is a boutique hotel in a historic early 20th century building on a quiet street. It is where grace and charm are a way of life. It is close to all the attractions and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. I felt as if I was staying with family. I loved working from my cozy room with a beautiful view of the garden. Discover this unique and relaxing environment.

I’m wearing our Mystery leggings, Grace leggings and Passion leggings.

Amsterdam: Self Expression

Amsterdam was the first stop on my 6 week tour through Europe. Picturesque canals, world-class museums and amazing restaurants. Amsterdam is one destination that combines a little bit of everything. Biking in this city was on my bucket list and “I did it”. It was also one of the scariest experiences of my life. There are thousands of speed bikers, cars and metros all needing to get somewhere. It’s a must do but please proceed with caution 😉 . Below is a list of everything I did and highly recommend:

The Student Hotel Amsterdam:
I had the most amazing stay at this hotel. They have everything from an espresso machine in your room to a Ted Talk space downtown stairs. This hotel also features amazing art and a trendy restaurant/ bar. It is a great space for artists and anyone needing some inspiration. They also have bikes you can rent and it’s close to everything.

Heineken Experience:
Wow…this was incredible. It was an interactive tour through Heineken’s history in their former brewery. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and very funny. We had a beer and cheese pairing in a quaint private room. If you’re in Amsterdam you have to see this at least once!  It was informative and I learned a lot about the history of the company.  The beauty of this tour is how interactive it is- the pouring your own pint, designing your own bottle, green screen photo opportunities and interactive games. This is a must do.

Van Gogh Museum:
I believe we are all artists in our own way and therefore, we should all visit the Vincent Van Gogh Museum. You can rent a portable guide that beautifully explains the life, love and evolution of Van Gogh’s work. What a wonderful character.

Anne Frank:
The Anne Frank house is a must see while in Amsterdam. She was a young woman that made such a big impact on the world. This is a great reminder of the evil that exists in the world and still proceeds today. We need to end genocide around the world.

I’m wearing our True Nature Sweater , Intuition Crop Tank and Simplicity Legging.

Anger Management and Boxing

“Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.”― Mark Twain

Thank you Mr. Twain! I know this to be true because I can feel it. But how do I get rid of it?  That is the “million dollar” question of the week. How do I get rid of my anger and frustration? We all get angry. Sometimes its for small things, sometimes its for big things and sometimes it’s a bunch of things all piled together. For me, it was a bunch of small things that happened one right after another. I got two parking tickets, a girl hit my car and is now lying about it and certain people in my life are just getting on my nerves. I was exhausted this week and so done with it all. I didn’t even want to get out of bed because I didn’t want to deal with the annoyance of life.

It got to the point where I was angry for being angry. I thought, this is getting a little ridiculous. Lets do something proactive about this situation. I decided to take a boxing class at “Boxing City” in Marina Del Rey.  At this point, I had accepted the feeling of anger and was ready to punch my way out of it. That is exactly what I did. For an hour, I punched the hell out of a punching bag. This was incredibly therapeutic and a great release of negative energy.  I’m not going to lie, my angry feelings didn’t just magically disappear but they faded dramatically. Now that anger didn’t consume me, I was able to gain back some perspective. It was this perspective that allowed me to start seeing and appreciating all the good again.

If you believe in the “Law of Attraction,” you might like this.  Now that those angry feelings are gone, I’m feeling really positive. So while I was writing this, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, called me and said that my rental car is going to be a brand new Jaguar while my car is getting fixed.

Thieves & Wigs

Thieves & Wigs

This week was a mixed bag of negative and positive events. I found out that I got a job…yay! It’s a good position at FOX Studios. Not exactly what I want to do but a good start. I thought, “this is a positive start to my week”!

As I explained in my video, my purse was stolen on the 4th of July which put a damper on the day. Even though it was only a purse, it felt like such a violation. Without realizing it, the next day I was in a bit of a panic. I had my locks changed on my door because my house keys where in my purse. My mind was consumed with fearful thoughts. That is when I realized I needed to reground myself. I was disconnected and all over the place. I needed to center myself again. So the next day, I decided to have a total “ME” day. I went for a nice walk on the beach, drank a glass of wine while I made my favorite pasta dish, read a book and made myself concentrate on things I was grateful for. Even if the feeling isn’t there initially, it will come if your thoughts are focused. As I started to feel better, I got a facebook message from a producer of a San Diego TV show. They want to have me on the show as a guest. My entire body filled with excitement. So random and fun. I thought maybe “my not leading to something things, are finally leading to something”?

Later that day, I received another facebook message from a person I had never met before. Someone put my purse on his porch and he got my name from my drivers license. I was so thrilled! I went to his house and picked it up. Everything was in it except the $15. Someone had grabbed the money and then threw it on the street. The guy told me it went to 5 different people before it got to his house. I was shocked to discover that nobody had stolen my Ray-Ban sunglasses. They were in the purse! Humans aren’t as bad as I thought!

Yes, this experience was a huge inconvenience. I wasted 3 hours at the DMV getting a new license and spent a lot of money changing my locks but sometimes SHIT happens. Its all about how we react to a situation and turn things around!

“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” -Charles R. Swindoll

Check out our product of the week at Confused Girl Activewear! In honor of putting fun things on our heads, take a look at my ABUNDANT Headband. The patter is inspired from a beautiful Malachite Crystal. With its pure energy rays of green, Malachite is dedicated to the heart chakra. Malachite is a stone of good fortune and abundance and it can also bring productive and lucrative work into play and inspire self-confidence and success. These vibrations release and diffuse those of victimization by demonstrating the power of oneself.
