Young Adult

Our society tends to dismiss play for adults. Play is perceived as unproductive, petty or even a guilty pleasure. The notion is that once we reach adulthood, it’s time to get serious. And between personal and professional responsibilities, there’s no time to play.

Change how you think about play. Remember that play is important for all aspects of our lives, including creativity and relationships. Give yourself permission to play every day 🙂

And here I am going around getting arrested for playing on a tire swing at
2am… (Was actually sober I might add. Lol)

That’s why I don’t feel like growing up yet! Lol I’m 17 though so I guess
    eventually I’ll have to! :/

Haha, I love it. We all need to be less serious and just do something
silly. Boost those serotonin levels. 😀

I couldn’t agree more. I was so PISSED when recess in school was
eliminated. I think it was 4th grade. I never got over that! I’m ALL about
having fun. Everyone I know has grown up, have careers, a family. Not me.
    I’m still a kid. Lol.

Although my idea of fun is very different from yours. I’m very reserved as
an introvert and could never act goofy in public, or consider it fun. I
grew up with video games so that’s my idea of fun. The games I play tend to
reward you a lot for being imaginative and intelligent. I was always very
    imaginative as a child too.

So the whole idea that we have to grow up and get serious jobs and such is
not something I subscribe to. We can learn a lot from children, especially
when it comes to spiritual truths. They know *the meaning of life is to be
    happy.*

All adults, at any age, need this reminder…..my fun level is at a
critical LOW! So, I started thinking about how to change this and I sit
here baffled and shocked.. I need fun so badly I have to work to remember
how to have it! And I am shocked that I am experiencing this. I want to
hang from some monkey bars and swing on a swing….yet I have to protect my
injuredbuthealing ankle so that I can get a job……I will figure out how
to play in other ways. Thank you for this message.
