How To Stay Inspired To Be The Best You?

Recently, I took myself on a little writing retreat in the South of Bali. I stayed at two amazing places while I completed chapter six of, “Seven Things Every Confused Girl Should Do.”  I’m almost done with the first draft of my book…yay!!!! While I was retreating, Yoga Digest Magazine asked if I would answer a few questions for an article in their magazine.

I wanted to share how I answered one of the questions with you because I think it’s important to be authentic and real with what we experience in life.

I was asked:

How do you stay motivated and inspired to be the best you?

Life isn’t always a bed of roses. I still have moments of desperation, hopelessness, disappointment and anxiety. I just went through three months of feeling really off and uninspired. But I believe this too has something great to teach us and even though it’s uncomfortable, it will pass.

One of my greatest gifts, is when I feel inspired or called to create something, live somewhere, help someone, speak up, I do. But I don’t think it is realistic to wake up inspired and motivated everyday. I actually think it’s unhealthy to tell people, “when you are doing what you love, you will never work a day in your life.” I just don’t think that is possible unless you are on some ‘happy pill’…lol.

What keeps me being the best me is my desire to learn from everything including the fear and pain I may experience. I also choose to trust my path even when I’m not getting the results that I want. I trust that I’m exactly where I need to be and eventually things will become clear.

If you are ever in the South of Bali, you should definitely check out these two amazing places I ‘retreated’ at:

Prasana by Arjani Resorts was the perfect spot to get away from it all and concentrate. My villa was completely private with a big beautiful pool. It’s so wonderful because you can lay out completely nude and swim with total privacy.

They had a beautiful outdoor sitting area with a fan and espresso machine. The bed was so comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. I also had a big beautiful outdoor bath tub which I used every day. I love the style of this place as well. It is modern and minimalistic. The restaurant is also very good and has beautiful views of the ocean. I will definitely be staying here again!

Jamahal Resort is the perfect place for all around wellness. I was totally blown away by this place. I was assigned my own butler who walked me over to my private villa. The villa is huge with a big pool, beautiful cabana, porch, waterfall and green scenery everywhere.

I felt peaceful just sitting outside. I was able to do a lovely morning yoga flow my the pool and mindful meditation. The villa has a big living room with a mini bar, comfortable couch and espresso machine. If you watch my instagram stories, you know I always need my espresso machine. I also loved the art in the villa. It is traditional Balinese style. They also have a huge bath which was filled with flowers when I arrived. They played classical music in the bathroom which is so amazing to hear while soaking in the tub.

I felt like a complete princess. In the other part of the villa, there’s a massage room. Yes, you don’t have to leave your villa to get a massage, they come to you :). I had the most amazing 90 minute massage. Annik, my masseuse had healing hands. They have a restaurant menu in the villa, so when you want to order breakfast, lunch or dinner, you just call the butler and they bring it right to your door. So fabulous!!!
