This week I really began to pay attention to what I was saying to myself. How I used the phrase, “I AM”. I noticed that most of my “I AM’s”, were not only negative but down right cruel. Things I wouldn’t say to my worst enemy. “I am fat, I am stupid, I am not doing enough, I am not enough, I am lazy, I am unmotivated, I am tired” and the list goes on and on.
I was shocked how I could let this happen when I find myself to be a pretty self aware person. The negative “I AM’s” were happening completely subconsciously. Once I became aware of this, I decided that some reprogramming must take place. I was going to give myself different “I AMs” and I would repeat them in the morning when I woke up and throughout the day.
I started to say, “I am confident”, “I am beautiful”, “I am motivated”, “I am grateful”, “I am happy”. I said these phrases even if I didn’t feel them. After saying them though, I started to feel better and more uplifted because my concentration was on the positive. I was welcoming more positive into my life because of my “I AM’s”.
I was even faced with a challenging person this week that usually causes me a lot of anxiety and because of my “I AM’s”, it didn’t effect me like it usually does.
We have a lot in life against us. There are many obstacles to overcome. We must not be against ourselves. Instead, we have to be our biggest fans.

I think you are right! It is and always has been about positive thinking. Once you let self-doubt and negative views to enter your mind …it not only impacts you but other people as well.
You are very articulate and hold views the same views as I do! Admittedly though – you are far better at conveying these sentiments than I am. Whenever I speak about positivism around people it sounds kinda lame….like some motivational poster you would see in Gold’s Gym. Nevertheless! I will keep trying. 1000 fails and 1 win…I still get a win!
