Don’t count the days, make the days count.
It has always been a dream of mine to do a road trip through the alps. I feel so peaceful and connected when I’m in the mountains breathing that crisp fresh air. One of my favorite spots was the quaint town of Garmich.
The town lies near Zugspitze mountain, Germany’s highest peak. It embodies bavarian charm and originality. I was lucky enough to stay at one of the most charming hotels, called “The Staudacherhof“. We received welcome drinks on arrival and the staff was very friendly.
I stayed in one of their charming suites. It was a dream to wakeup in the morning surrounded by mountain views. I loved lounging on the couch while reading my favorite book.
The indoor and outdoor pools can be used year round as they’re very well heated and the outdoor pool has a great view of the mountain. There’s more than one sauna to get some r&r and my favorite one was in the style of a Roman Bath. You can melt in there for what seems like days; I left feeling refreshed, pampered and happy.
There are shops and restaurants within a few minutes of walking and plenty of sights to see if you want to take a drive. I’d definitely stay here again and will probably be booking another trip sooner than later.
