La Dolce Vita In Cortina

Paradise doesn’t have to be tropical!

Oh, I left my heart in beautiful Cortina. For those of you who don’t know, Cortina d’Ampezzo is a ski resort in northern Italy. It’s part of the Dolomiti Superski area, which encompasses the Falzarego Pass, with its downhill runs. It is one of the most beautiful mountain towns nestled in the incredible dolomites. This week in the mountains was full of personal revelations. There is nothing like breathing crisp mountain air to clear the mind and open the heart. ⁣⁣

The Italians definitely know how to make everything an overly enjoyable experience and skiing culture is no different. After a morning on the slopes, taking in the incredible dolomites, I popped into the restaurant on the mountain and had the most delicious plate of homemade pasta. Then in the afternoon I treated myself to a Bombardino (Italian eggnog). In the evening, I had a stroll through their quaint downtown area which is often referred to as the “Pearl of the Dolomites”. I mean, what more could a girl ask for.

I also had an incredible stay at Camina Suite and Spa. The hotel is just a short walk from the center and is located in the best area for panoramic mountain views. I loved that the hotel was completely new and modern while still maintaining a cozy mountain chic vibe. Our suite was was so spacious with two big balconies overlooking the incredible dolomite mountains. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with a lovely big shower. They also have a brand new spa with 2 saunas and a steam room. The spa resting area is divine, with views that overlook the town and mountains. Their breakfast is also incredible with local produce. The local cheese, yogurt, fruit, eggs etc. It was the perfect way to start a day of skiing.

I think Cortina may be this Confused Girl’s favorite new winter spot!
